It'll be so good to get back to the apartment on Tuesday the 11th, as I've been away from home since October 1st for my combination vacation and best friend's wedding.

I spent the first couple days in a timeshare with my parents in Nashville, where I got food poisoning the first night there from improperly stored light ranch dressing at a steakhouse and was forced to live out my gastrointestinal nightmares for a day or so *Shudders in remembrance*...but at least I recovered with enough time to spend one afternoon swimming. And it's not like I was really missing out on much in Nashville anyway, given my decided lack of interest in all things country music. My parents chose the location, not me. I just came to enjoy the condo.

The rest of the week was spent hanging out with the rest of the bridal party at a gorgeous bed and breakfast by a lake and some lush green mountains in Asheville, North Carolina. The wedding was stunning and immensely moving, and somehow I managed not to let the tears flow during the ceremony, though I couldn't keep myself from sniffling when I saw my best friend walk down the aisle. She was so radiant and so in love, and I was just overflowing with joy for her! I was so honored to be standing with her, and being able to hold her bouquet and the groom's ring, and fix her train on her dress, my biggest duties as co-maid of honor. My other fun job was passing out bottles of bubbles for guests to blow as the happy couple exited the church. I also drank lots of wine and champagne and danced with my good friend/wedding date nerv_agent_001 at the reception and still managed not to get a hangover...score! It was an awesome weekend but I admit it'll be good to get home and really unwind, not to mention cuddle my Eowyn-kitty. She's never been without her mommy for anywhere near this long before, and I was starting to get worried about her. I owe major props to Jill from work for taking such good care of her while I was gone. I'll have to get her a nice gift...

Mmmmm....sleep calls. Night! (And congrats again sirenprincess! Enjoy your honeymoon in Maui!)
