I must say, I'm very pleased with myself this weekend. Given that I was only scheduled to work 4 hours on Saturday (and those were voluntary extra hours to cover for a short shift), I fully expected to mostly spend this weekend like I spend most weekends when I don't work: Sleep in until midafternoon, get up, play on the computer in my pajamas while eating cereal, shower and get dressed and work up motivation to leave the apartment just about the time the sun goes down, check the mail, grab some fast food or microwave something, and watch tv/play my Gamecube/surf the internet until about 5-7am, then go to bed and repeat cycle the next day.
Yesterday, however, I spent a good hour and a half grocery shopping after my couple hours at work (spent almost 200 bucks!...though 50 of that was for wine and beer, and another large chunk was vitamins/shampoo/cleaning products). It had been at least 6 weeks since I last went shopping, and I was out of absolutely anything that could be construed as healthy or fresh, except for some canned items, and I was out of all snacks and desserts as well. So I took care of that, and then I finished my laundry, put all my clothes away, ironed a couple shirts, picked up around the apartment, and vacuumed the whole place.
Then today, I washed all the towels, changed the cat litter, did the dishes, went for a vigorous 35 minute walk around the apartment complex, and read a 20 page article on sterile IV compounding practices for work, since our hospital is having our every-other-year accreditation survey in June and they want all their pharmacists to meet competency standards in that area. BORING read, but I actually read a large chunk while walking, so it went quicker than usual. (Plus, I tend to fall asleep while reading articles if I do it sitting in a comfy chair *G*).
All in all, I'd say I deserve to spend the last few hours of today playing video games!
In other news, Happy 46th Birthday to Sean Bean today! I watched 'Black Beauty' today while I was cleaning, and DAMN if that man isn't just about the sexiest guy I can imagine. He puts so very many young twenty-something actors to shame in the charisma and talent department, plus he's got a killer accent that I just die for. Count me among the 'Boromir is hotter than Aragorn' crowd, for sure! (Though Boromir vs. Faramir is a much harder choice, and, of course, all pale before the grace and ethereal beauty that is my Elf...*sigh*). I'm hopeless...
