Two posts in one day....must be some sorta record!

Anyway, this one is just a silly link to some screencaps for those of you who have not yet had the *cough*pleasure*cough* of seeing the animated 1978 version of Lord of the Rings.

I am not responsible for any emotional or optic nerve damage resulting from viewing these pics...

Rankin-Bass screen caps

Erm, you might want to add the caution, "Don't look if you've just eaten." And to think, I saw that thing in my yoot, when it was in the theatre. And I actually found Aragorn cute, in a Native-American, high-cheekbone kind of way.

Glad Viggo M. is now my preeminent image of "Strider".

Yeah... sad that I've watched that twice since I bought it on DVD. Don't think I'll go for a third any time soon, though. The ugly, bumbling, clueless Samwise (sweet and chubby's how I like my Sam) and Viking, half-naked Boromir just break my heart. I remember being quite confused about the Saruman/Araman thing as well.
But I ADORE John Hurt, so Aragorn, I must say, was my favorite part of it all. Which isn't too bad. At least I had a favorite part, even if it's the lesser of all evils. And the lad who did Legolas' voice was C-3PO... so that's kind of cool.

Otherwise it's TERRIBLY painful to watch. LOL! Poor, poor books to have an adaptation like that. LOL Thanks for the link!
